The heart of New Zealand’s original wine trail, Martinborough bursts with colonial charm. Aside from the boutique wineries you’ll find the Wairarapa region is full of Victorian style villages and an interesting World War I history.

Beer drinkers need not miss out. At nearby Masterton there is a seven storey Tui Brewery where you can enjoy beer tastings. Outdoor adventurers can spend a day taking in marine life and hiking to Castle Point lighthouse, one of the last manned lighthouses in New Zealand.
