Northland, New Zealand

The subtropical Bay of Islands and Northland is full of marine life, Maori culture and beautiful beachscapes. It’s also home to one of New Zealand’s most historic sites, the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where you will have the chance to learn about local Maori culture and the colonisation of the English.

If sunshine is what you’re looking for, you’ll be able to enjoy boating, swimming with dolphins and diving. The Northland is also home to the famous Ninety Mile Beach where you can enjoy fishing, surfing and hiking surrounded by white sand, sand dunes and Kauri forests. You can also visit some the largest trees in New Zealand, along the untouched Hokianga coast, including the giant Kauri, Tane Mahuta!

Did we mention it’s subtropical? The average winter temperature is 16°C/61°F.
