Depart your hotel to Koulen mountain (the birthplace of the Khmer empire). You drive through pretty rural villages surrounding by rice fields, vegetable gardens and Palm trees. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of countryside, see the farming activities and learn about Cambodian culture, daily lifestyle. At the summit of Kulen mountain is a 16th century Buddhist monastery, and it was here that King JayavaramanII declared independence from Java in 802AD.
