  • Day 1: Central Region

    Stop At: Cape Coast Castle, Cape Coast Ghana
    Cape Coast Castle is one of the largest of the castles built by European powers in today Ghana. It began as a trade lodge constructed by the Portuguese in 1555 on a part of the Gold Coast, which later became known as the Cape Coast. In 1653, following Sweden’s conquest of the Cape Coast, the Swedish Africa Company constructed a permanent wooden fortress for trade in timber and gold. A decade later, the fort was reconstructed in stone when the Danes seized power from the Swedish. The fort then passed through the hands of many foreign powers.
    The Cape Coast Castle has served as the West African headquarters of the president of the Committee of Merchants; the seat of the British governor; and a school. It is open to the public and is currently a historical museum with Ghanaian arts and crafts gift shop, and it is the regional headquarters of Ghana Museums and Monuments Board.

    Stop At: Assin Manso Slave Camp, Mankessim - Kumasi Rd, Ghana
    Assin Manso Slave Camp is a pure historical site where tourists are briefed on the slaves who were taken through the camp for their last bath and later to be auctioned before they were taken to the slave forts. Slaves who were not selected were sometimes shot dead and buried in a hole together. This is a sacred site where people believe the spirits of many ancestors reside and can be felt.

    Day 2: Central Region

    Stop At: Kakum National Park, Cape Coast Ghana
    The Afafranto camp site is ideally for visitors wanting an easily accessible forest camping experience. Tourists who want to visit this site must bring along their own tents, mosquito nets and sleeping pads (which we will provide).
    There is also a Sun Bird Trail for tourists with a special interest in birds now have a new trail.

    The dense vegetation provides cover for globally endangered species such as the forest elephant and bongo - the largest forest antelope, as well as various types of monkeys.
    There will be an early morning hiking on the hills of Kakum

    Stop At: Elmina Castle, Elmina Ghana
    Elmina Castle was established by Portuguese in 1482 as São Jorge da Mina (St. George of the Mine) in Elmina, Ghana (formerly the Gold Coast). Elmina and Elmina Castle was the first trading post built on the Gulf of Guinea, so is the oldest European building in existence below the Sahara. It was first established as a trade settlement but later became one of the most important stops on the route of the Atlantic slave trade.
    Today Elmina Castle is a popular historical site, and was a major filming location for Werner Herzog's 1987 drama film "Cobra Verde". It is an extremely popular destination for African American tourists seeking to connect with their heritage and a powerful reminder of the history of the slave trade. The castle is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

    Day 3: Volta Region

    Stop At: Adomi Bridge, Ghana
    We will walk on one of the most famous bridges in Ghana
    Duration: 20 minutes

    Stop At: Lake Bosumtwi, 30 km south-east of Kumasi Ghana
    Boast ride on the lake volta
    Duration: 1 hour

    Day 4: Volta Region

    Stop At: Afadjato (Mount Afadjato), Ghana
    It’s a beautiful tourist site in the Volta Region and the highest mountain in Ghana, welcoming over thousands of visitors around the world. It takes 1-2 hours to climb the mountain but also depends on the individual. We will go mountain climbing and enjoy the view of nature from the mountain top.

    Stop At: Wli Waterfalls, Hohoe Ghana
    The Wli Falls is known to be the longest/highest water fall in West Africa. The fall is locally known as Agumatsa waterfalls, which simply means “Allow Me to Flow”.it is located approximately 280km from the capital city of Ghana, Accra.
    Individuals who would like to swim in the fall can do so

    Stop At: Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary And Cultural Village, Tafi Atome Ghana
    It is a forest and a habitat to over 700 Sacred Mona Monkeys population that live in a protection virgin forest which is in a ‘U’ shape form. Travelers get to learn about the monkeys and also feed them. It is an interesting town observing the co-habitation of people and monkeys
