Come and enjoy the history of the Maillol Museum since 1739!
In 1739, the nuns of the Récollets convent graciously ceded to the city a site for the construction of a monumental fountain in the heart of the suburb. Edme Bouchardon, ordinary sculptor of Roy, creates the majestic fountain of the Four Seasons built from 1739 to 1745 to the glory of the City of Paris. Today it forms a masterful front stage on the facade of the museum. The whole was classified as a historic monument in 1862.

After 15 years of fitting out, the museum dedicated to Maillol, wanted by Dina Vierny, finally opens its doors on January 20, 1995. Inaugurated by the President of the Republic François Mitterrand, it presents to the public the most important collection of works of the artist, and paints a complete panorama of his creation in sculpture, painting, drawing, terracotta and tapestry. Dina Vierny entrusts the management of the museum and the management of temporary exhibitions to her sons Olivier and Bertrand Lorquin, until 2009.

Between 1995 and 2015, exhibitions honoring big names in Art History are organized: Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Morandi, Basquiat, Bacon, Keith Haring, Poliakoff, Rauchenberg, Bonnard ...
The museum, which has been closed since February 15, 2015, reopens in September after major renovations with an exhibition honoring the artist Ben Vautier.
