DAY 1 - Wednesday

Welcome to Dunedin! Pick up your EZI rental car (Toyota RAV4) and get ready to explore this historic Scottish city in style. Depending on what time you arrive, you have the day to get settled and check out your new surroundings. You’ll be staying at the 5-star Distinction Hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city. For dinner tonight, you’re in for a real treat. Spend your $150 voucher at Moiety, a small but stunning restaurant offering the finest local produce.

DAY 2 - Thursday

Breakfast is included with your stay at the hotel, so be sure to fill your boots before a day of adventure. This morning, we recommend driving along the Otago Peninsula to the Royal Albatross Centre, where you can visit the only mainland breeding colony of Royal Albatross in the world. If you’re lucky enough, you might even see them flying overhead with their huge 3m wingspan! There are free walks and viewing platforms as well as the option of a guided tour ($25pp) for avid bird spotters. In the afternoon, you’ll head to New Zealand’s only castle: Larnach Castle, nestled on a picturesque site above the city. Discover the castle’s rich history that dates back to 1871 as you explore the gardens and grounds before enjoying High Tea in the castle’s exquisite ballroom. Kick back and relax this evening for dinner while you spend your $150 voucher at Parcel’s Restaurant in the hotel.

DAY 3 - Friday

This morning is yours to explore the city. From the Octagon to Dunedin Railway Station and Baldwin Street, there are plenty of hotspots to hit. You could even drive up Signal Hill for 360 views of Dunedin from above. If you work up an appetite after all that sightseeing - we’ve got you covered. Indulge in a 3 course lunch at one of Dunedin’s finest seaside restaurants: Titi then take a stroll along the gorgeous St. Clair beach. See if you can spot surfers (and perhaps even sealions) along the way! In the evening, embark on a guided walking tour to learn more about the history and culture of Dunedin and get up close and personal with the city’s vibrant street art scene. End your tour at one of the cool burger joints, bars or wine cellars on Vogel Street.

DAY 4 - Saturday

This morning we recommend that you check out the Otago Farmers Market to sample some artisanal treats. Or perhaps, for the more adventurous souls amongst us, the perfect time to tackle one of Dunedin’s epic walking trails. Tunnel Beach and Mount Cargill’s Organ Pipes are two of our favourites! This afternoon, you’ll get the chance to sample one of the South Island’s most famous products, Speights beer, on an interactive brewery tour at the factory. For those hardcore craft beer enthusiasts, why not swing by Emerson’s brewery as well. Spend your final evening at one of the trendy bars and restaurants along The Octagon and soak up the very best of Dunedin’s nightlife.
