    Kiril Kto and Pavel Zumkin organized the “Patchwork” project, designed to change the face of an old shabby tunnel near the Kurskiy Station. It took them 8 days to turn it into a wonderful colorful place. Authorities supported the project, so it is a rare example of a successful cooperation between artists and a government.

    The walls of this shopping mall were turned into the graffiti-masterpieces. Okuda San Miguel from Spain has made a colorful mural “Free Love” for the “Artmosphere” biennale. Tristan Eaton from the USA has painted a portrait of a faceless cosmonaut with the “Pravda” newspaper logo, Soviet spaceships and an inscription “Continue fighting” and OBEY from the USA has created a constructivists mural “Art is a Hammer”.

    Artist ‘Smates’ from Belgium is famous for his expressionistic graffiti pieces. Emotional “Diving in Moscow” appeared thanks to the festival “The Best City on Earth”. Smates got the prize for this piece.

    The Russian Military Historical Society in a collaboration with several acknowledged street-artists made the giant graffiti here. It is based on the sketch by Yaroslav Kashak and made in the colors of Kremlin so the graffiti would blend with the buildings around.

    This memory wall is dedicated to the legendary Soviet musician Viktor Tsoi, his band Kino and their beloved songs. In 1990 an unknown author wrote “Viktor Tsoi has died today” after news had broken about Tsoi’s death in a car collision. Someone replied: “Tsoi is alive!”, and since then the fans’ wall polylogue has been initiated. Fans still leave their inscriptions on the walls, which are usually the snippets from Kino’s most popular songs.

    The project “Our Great Victory” was held in conjunction with the seventieth anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. One of the graffiti-portraits created by ‘Art-Façade’ as a part of the project was dedicated to the great Russian marshal Georgy Zhukov, who had commanded Soviet forces in the Battle of Berlin, the result of which was the defeat of Nazi Germany.

    Discover the splendid “Pioneer Girl” graffiti, created by the Colombian street artist ‘Stinkfish’ for the MOST Street Art Festival in 2014. It is based on the photo of a pioneer girl that was taken by Russian vanguard painter and photographer Rodchenko. ‘Stinkfish’ usually makes graffiti-portraits of unknown people he occasionally pictured, but he decided to make an exception for Moscow.

    The Netherlands artist ‘Telmo&Miel’ made the graffiti of a huge baby with a small elephant going up on a balloon as a part of the “Best City on Earth” festival. The inscription on it says: “Become strong, stay gentle”.

    Wander the Dostoyevskaya Street and discover its contemporary art wonders, including the portrait of the writer Varlam Shalamov, former convict of the GULAG (Soviet prison system), made by the ‘Zoom’ on a request of the GULAG History Museum.
