This trek showcases some of the best views of Annapurna and neighboring Himalayas, especially from the Poon Hill. It is a relatively easy walk meandering through villages and rhododendron forests.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu 1350 m.

    Pass By: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
    Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Thai Nepal Travels. After picking up your luggage and look for our representative with a Thai Nepal Travels display board at the arrival gate. After that, you will be transferred to Hotel. After check-in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends on your interests and condition.

    Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (914m) 6-7 hours

    Pass By: Pokhara, Pokhara, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
    Today after breakfast the early morning we drive to Kathmandu airport and fly to Pokhara (914m.) by tourist bus. Pokhara is 200 kilometers west of Kathmandu it is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites. After reaching to Pokhara we check in hotel. After check-in, you can take a rest, hang around in the city - it all depends on your interests and condition. Overnight in Pokhara.

    Day 3: Drive to Hile and start to hike to Ulleri (3 hours drive and 2-3 hours walk)

    Pass By: Ulleri, Pokhara 33700, Nepal
    Today after breakfast we drive to Hile and starting our trek. We follow the River Bhurungdi east, passing lowland rice fields, local villages and a small waterfall. We cross the Modi Khola (river) the village of Tikhedunga. After Tikhedunga village we stop at Ulleri overnight at teahouse at Ulleri.

    Day 4: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,750m) 4 - 5 hours

    Pass By: Ghorepani, Ghorepani, Dhaulagiri Zone, Western Region
    After breakfast we start to walk to ascent to the Ghorepani village. The name of Ghorepani in Nepali means horse-water owing to its role as an important campsite for traders before it became a trekker's stop. from here we will have magnificent views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli, later in the trek we will also see Fishtail Mountain. After you have conquered the thousands of steps, the trail becomes easier as we pass Banthati and walk through the rhododendron forest overnight at tea-house at Ghorepani

    Day 5: Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,700m) with a visit to Poon Hill: 6 - 7 hours

    Pass By: Tadapani, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
    We make an early morning climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210 m/10,529 ft). The Poon Hill will reward you with spectacular sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Take time here to soak up the tranquil atmosphere. We return back to Ghorepani. Upon breakfast, we head east to Tadapani through pine and rhododendron forests to reach Tadapani for overnight in tea-house here.

    Day 6: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m) and Pokhara 3 - 4 hours 2 hours drive

    Pass By: Pokhara, Pokhara, Gandaki Zone, Western Region
    We start the day on flat ground to Bhaisi Kharka before a steep descent to Ghandruk. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees. When the rhododendron trees are in bloom, these forests actually turn into gardens of dazzlingly beautiful flowers, mostly red, when seen from the air or from far. Ghandruk offers sensational views of Fishtail Mountain, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Annapurna South and Himchuli. We have dinner here and walk to Kimche village then take a jeep to Pokhara. We will be downhill all the way to Birethanti. A gentle descent back to Nayapul following the Modi River by the time, we arrive at Birethanti from here, and a short drive to Pokhara and overnight at Pokhara.

    Day 7: Drive to Kathmandu 7-8 hours

    Pass By: Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Kathmandu Valley, Bagmati Zone, Central Region
    We drive to Kathmandu in the morning. The left side of the tourist bus offers some amazing views of the Himalayas. After arriving in Kathmandu, we leave for our hotel. You may enjoy the day leisurely or catch up on some last minute shopping or explore any landmarks in Kathmandu. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner hosted by Thai Nepal Travels to celebrate the successful completion of our trip. Overnight in Kathmandu.

    Day 8: Final Departure

    Our 8 Days Poon Hill & Ghandruk trek comes to an end today. A representative from Thai Nepal Travels will take you to the airport approximately 2 hours before the scheduled flight.
