Pikey Peak Trek

Pikey Peak is one of the famous vantage points to see the panoramic view including Mount Everest and other mountains in Nepal. From this vantage point, one can see the best sunrise and sunset panoramic view of Everest and more Himalayas range with the deep green valleys.
Pikey peak was a seasonal snowy hill where local Sherpa people go for short hiking trips and to hang the prayer flag on the top. The Pikey named from the name of local Sherpa deity it represents the sky over nature. During the monsoon time, June/July local people Sherpa people worship their god and perform the ceremony by Buddhist Lama and group of Monks.
At present, the pikey peak is one of the most popular short trek destinations of Nepal among the tourist as within 6-day easy hiking, one can get the best view of Himalayas from Dhaulagiri in West to Mt. Kanchenjunga in the east including Everest.

  • Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

    Stop At: Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Kathmandu Valley, Bagmati Zone, Central Region
    Welcome to Kathmandu Nepal. Asian Heritage Treks & Travel Representative welcome you at the Airport with your nameplate. After Arrival at Nepal airport, transfer you to the hotel. On the way Airport to Hotel, you will pass by the (Pashupatinath temple), Royal Palace Museum i.e. Narayanhity, Garden Of Dream and reach the Thamel. Your hotel will be in downtown of Touristic Hub. Our representative will facilitate you and discuss your travel itinerary. There will be enough time to stroll through the street of Thamel.

    Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley- Kathmandu Durbar Square - Swayambhunath stupa - Pashupatinath Temple - Boudhanath Stupa

    Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal
    Swayambhunath temple is also known as "Monkey Temple". This temple is located on the top of a hill, with the large stupa as main attraction. The stupa is reachable from two sides. Either by a long flight of stairs, or from the backside by road.

    Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
    Boudhanath Stupa is the largest, and most important stupa in Nepal. Wander around at this magical location and behold buddhists from all over the world praying. Enjoy a refreshment or lunch at one of the rooftop restaurants overlooking the stupa. Learn about the history of this place from your local tour guide.

    Stop At: Pashupatinath Temple, 44621 Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
    Pashupatinath is the most holy temple in Kathmandu for the Hindu religion. This temple is located along the river, where many open-air cremation ceremonies take place.

    Stop At: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
    Once back in Thamel, it is time for a special activity. During a traditional Tibetan Momo (dumpling) cooking workshop, our local cook will teach you how to make this delicious snack. This activity is including a local dinner where of course you can try your delicious creations.

    Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap (2900m), Driving duration:7 hours

    Stop At: Dhap, 10100, Nepal
    In the early morning, our guide will pick you from your hotel and then drive to Dhap. The road follows the Sun Koshi river which then merges with the Tama Koshi river to form another Koshi river until reaching Ghurmi. We pass many settlements and bazaar along the way. On reaching Dhap, you can explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of locals.

    Day 4: Dhap to Jhapre (2830m) via Sigane, Hiking Duration: 3-4 hours

    Stop At: Nepal, Nepal
    Today, we start our trek as we walk along the dusty roads leading to Sigane. Walking along the dusty road for some time, we reach Jhapre. Jhapre is famous for its vantage point to view the mountains like Mt. Everest and the NumburHimal. You can also visit the stupas and monasteries.

    Day 5: Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base (3600 m), Hiking Duration: 5 hours

    Stop At: Nepal, Nepal
    Enjoy the sunrise view from Jhapre as the first golden rays of the sun falling on the silver lining of snow-capped mountains. Then, continuing our trek along the trail for some time, we reach Bhulbule. The trail then becomes steep and climbing through the rhododendron forests and small settlement areas of Lhamuje. Crossing the Lhamuje, the trails open out to yak grazing pasture and then cross a long Mani wall followed by a climb along the winding road to Pikey Base Camp. In Pikey Base Camp, you can visit the Yak Cheese Factory and can enjoy the magnificent views of the Himalayas surrounding the valley

    Day 6: Hike to Pikey Peak (4065 m) & back to Junbeshi (2390 m), Hiking Duration: 6-7 hours

    Stop At: Junbesi, Dudhakunda 56000, Nepal
    In the early morning, hike to Pikey Peak to enjoy the glorious sunrise over the Himalayas such as Mt. Everest (8848 m), NumburChuli (6959 m), Thamserku (6608 m), Kangtega (6685 m), Khatang (6853 m), Kanchenjunga (8586 m), Manaslu (8163 m), Gaurishankar (713 4m), DorjeLakpa (6966m) and Langtang. After enjoying the view, return to Pikey Peak Base Camp and from there, hike down to Junbesi followed by the descent to Lamjura. Crossing many Mani walls and Chortens on our way we will reach Junbesi.

    Day 7: Junbeshi to Salleri (2360 m) Hiking Duration: 4-5 hours

    Stop At: Salleri, Salleri, Dailekh, Bheri Zone, Mid-Western Region
    Junbeshi is a typical Sherpa village. Here, you can experience the Sherpa culture and visit the popular Monastery. Later, we leave Junbeshi village and pass through the prayer flags and prayer wheels with carving mantra stones walls. On reaching Salleri, you can rest at the lodge or hike to Phaplu to visit the famous Tibetan monastery

    Day 8: Salleri to Kathmandu Drive duration: 8-9 hours

    Stop At: Kathmandu, Kathmandu, Kathmandu Valley, Bagmati Zone, Central Region
    You will drive from Salleri to Kathmandu. On the way, you can see the beautiful hills and slopes. Later, you can stroll through the streets of Thamel for shopping. You can also buy souvenirs for your friends and family.

    Day 9: Sightseeing tour around Patan and Bhaktapur

    Stop At: Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur 00977-1-4701148 Nepal
    Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the three famous king-squares in Kathmandu valley. Here you find beautiful temples and your guide will explain about the history of this unique place.
    Around lunchtime, your guide will take you to special street food stalls for a local street food lunch.

    At Pottery Square, many local handicrafts men are making traditional clay-pots. We have arranged for you to participate in a workshop where a local craftsman will teach you how to make such clay-pot yourself.

    Stop At: Patan Durbar Square, Patan (Lalitpur) 44700 Nepal
    You'll be driven to one of the ancient cities inside Kathmandu valley i.e. Patan Durbar Square for sightseeing. In Patan, you will be visiting other UNESCO World Heritage sites: Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later on, visit the Patan Museum, where you can learn more about the history of Patan and the kings who reigned here. Later, visit the Golden Temple, a major attraction for both Hindu and Buddhist people, and Banglamukhi Temple.

    Day 10: Departure

    Pass By: Tribhuvan International Airport, Ring Rd, काठमाडौँ 44600, Nepal

You will be advised and assisted with your onward travel arrangements and transfer to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport by our private van around 3 hours before your flight schedule and flight back to your home/other travel destination. Have a safe journey onwards
