Day 1: Negombo/Colombo - Ella
Stop At: Little Adam's Peak, Passara Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Little Adams Peak got its name due to the similarity of the mountain with the famous Adams’ Peak mountain shape. It is 1141 m in height and the total hike will be only 40 – 50 minutes from the mountain. 360 degrees panoramic views with clouds rolling in, is a treat to watch for any traveler. The hike itself is a worthy experience as you have to walk through the lush green tea plantations and even talk with the local woman who pluck, collect and work in the tea Plantations. It is believed that this is the place where King Ravana practiced his daily ritual to worship the sun God. The hike up to the little Adams peak will give you a good impression of the landscape around Ella with a fantastic view so this little Adams Peak is absolutely worth the climb!

Stop At: Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Sri Lanka
The glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara station is one of the engineering marvels in the early 20th century. This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains. The Bridge was commissioned in 1921 under the British Government. Located almost 3100 feet above the sea level, this 99.6ft high bridge is called “Ahas namaye palama” (Nine skies bridge) in Sinhala. When one stands underneath it and looks up there is a beautiful sight of ‘nine skies’ through the nine arches, hence the Sinhala name. This bridge is also called ‘The Bridge in the sky’ due to the sheer height.

Stop At: Ravana's Cave, Wellawaya road Nature Exploration and conservation Society ,#37/2,kekunahena,opatha,Galle, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
It is quite a small cave, measuring about 50ft wide, 150ft long and 60ft high. History says that the cave is used by King Rawana to hide the Princess Sita. The cave lies 1,370 m (4,490 ft) above sea level on the foundation of a cliff, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka with a historical value. It is also thought to be connected to the cave at the Dowa rock temple in Bandarawela (part of King Walagamba's famous 'tunnel network'). Archaeological findings include a human skull dating back to 20,000 BC.These tunnels prove beyond doubt the architectural brilliance of King Ravana. The tunnels served as a quick means of transport through the hills and also as a secret passage. A close look at these tunnels indicates that they are man-made and not natural formations. If you like to explore historical places in Sri Lanka and admire the Ravana History, then this is definitely a place to visit.

Trekkers would love the place. It’s bit tiring to do the hiking. But it is definitely worth it. Once you got to the summit you will realize why we said so. The panoramic views it provides with mist and cloud covering the area, especially in the early mornings and the late evenings are something you should witness and that would suffice enough to say that you visited Ella.
