14th century gate guarding access to the Old Town in Lublin. It is a historical symbol of the city.

Stone church and monastery were built in 1342. In 1569, after the Union of Lublin was created, a solemn ceremony was held in this church attended by the king Sigismund II Augustus. In 1967 pope Paul VI gave this one a Minor basilica status.
