    Stop At: Zanzibar Spices and Heritage Centre, Kidichi, West district Tanzania

    This tour will reveal the meaning of "Spice Island '' where our guide will take you to get familiar with spice plantation. Zanzibar became popularly known as the Spice Island in Swahili language we call it " Marashi ya Karafuu" as a succulent green getaway filled with exotic species. You will see spices like cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, nutmeg, turmeric root. They are actually growing in the plantations. Furthermore you will see plants like henna bushes, lipstick tree and lemongrass. Your lunch will be served around here full of various types of spices.

    The palace was built in 1883 for Barghash bin Said, second Sultan of Zanzibar. It was intended as a ceremonial palace and official reception hall, celebrating modernity, and it was named "House of Wonders" because it was the first building in Zanzibar to have electricity, and also the first building in East Africa to have an elevator. The design of the palace is attributed to a British marine engineer and indeed its form introduced new architectural elements into the Zanzibar repertoire, including the wide external verandas supported by cast-iron columns, which allowed for uniquely high ceilings. The construction materials consisted of an original combination of coral rag, concrete slabs, mangrove shoots or boriti, and steel beams.

    This was the palace of Sultan Seyyid Said from 1828 until it was largely destroyed by the British bombardment of 1896. It was then rebuilt and used until the 1964 revolution when the last sultan was overthrown. Remarkably, much of the royal paraphernalia - banqueting tables, portraits, thrones and water closets - survives to now provide the human-interest story in this museum dedicated to the sultanate in the 19th century.

    Stop At: The Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe), Nr. Beit el-Ajaib, Stone Town, Zanzibar City Tanzania

    It was built by Omani Arabs after expelling the Portuguese in 1699. It was used as a garrison and prison in the 19th century, and as a terminal of the Zanzibar railways 1945-28. A new guardhouse was built in 1947 and used as the ladies' club, and an amphitheatre was added in the 1990s. It is now the headquarters of the Zanzibar international film festival. It was later used as a prison and as barracks.

    The Old Dispensary, also known as Ithnashiri Dispensary, is a historical building in Stone Town, Zanzibar. It is located on the seafront, in Mizingani Road, halfway between the Palace Museum and the harbour. It owes its name to the fact that it served as a dispensary in the first half of the 20th century.
