  • We take you on a day-long trip into the land, formerly known as the 'city of temples' - Bhubaneswar. Your trip to this culturally effervescent city starts, when our representative picks you up from your hotel lobby. Our tour begins with a visit to the magnificent 11th century Rajarani temple, formerly known as the Indreswara temple. The temple, built in reddish-gold sandstone, is ornamented with astonishing carvings of men, women, flowers, etc., and stands enclosed within a beautiful garden. We then head to the Mukteswar temple built in 950 A.D. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple depicts stories from the Panchatantra and is embossed with figures of meditating ascetics. Continue your spiritual quest with a visit to the 11th century Lingaraja temple built in Kalinga style architecture. Next on the itinerary, is a visit to the historic town of Dhauli, which finds its place in history books, owing to the Kalinga War fought here, in 261 BC. It was in Dhauli that Emperor Ashoka embraced Buddhism after witnessing the horrors of the war. Many centuries later, in 1972, the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangh established a peace pagoda (Shanti Stupa) to commemorate the lives lost in the war. Dhauli is also home to Ashokan edicts, small-rock cut caves and the Dhavalesvara Shiva temple. Finally, visit the Khandigiri & Udaigiri twin hills, home of the ancient Jain monastery, built in 1st and 2nd century B.C. The famous Rani Gumpha (Queen's Cave) located on these premises are reminiscent of the architecture of the era. After a splendid day in the iconic city of Bhubaneswar, we bid you adieu after dropping you to your hotel.
