Stop At: Jinvali Water Reservoir, 40 km to the North from Tbilisi, Tbilisi Georgia
Zhinvali, also Jinvali, is an artificial water reservoir located on the river Aragvi in Georgia. The building of the hydroelectric dam formed the Zhinvali Reservoir. The dam has been built in 1986.
You have probably noticed this perfect blue surface lake, if traveled to Gudauri or mount Kazbegi (Gergeti church) via Georgian military road. If not, and you are still planing your trip to this area, the chances are you will make a stop at Ananuri castle complex (which is located near Zhinvali water reservoir), but there is a small watching platform when approaching from Tbilisi - a perfect place for a group photo or as I prefer - landscape photography.

Ananuri fortress dates to XVI-XVIII centuries and it is situated on the foreland by the river Aragvi . Ananuri was a castle and seat of the Eristavis (Dukes) of Aragvi, a feudal dynasty which ruled the area from the 13th century. The castle was the scene of numerous battles. This is perfect place for landscape
photography, there are amazingly beautiful views of the fortress and Jinvali reservoir together. The fortress remained in use until the beginning of the 19th century. In 2007, the complex has been on the tentative list for inclusion into the UNESCO World Heritage Site program.

The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument is a monument built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the ongoing friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. Located on the Georgian Military Highway between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari pass, the monument is a large round stone and concrete structure overlooking the Devil's Valley in the Caucasus mountains.
Pass By: Gergeti Trinity Church, Near the Village of Gergeti, Stepantsminda Georgia
Gergeti Trinity church is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri and under Mount Kazbegi at an elevation of 2170 meters. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century, and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. in times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta including Saint Nino’s Cross were brought here for safekeeping. During the Soviet Era, all religious services were prohibited, but the church remained a popular tourist destination. The church is now an active establishment of the Geoprgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church. From the church, you will get an epic panoramic view of the whole valley. The church due to its isolation in the steep mountainous area full of nature, it remains the most iconic tourist attraction in Georgia. We will be impressed with the view .
Stop At: Gveleti Waterfall, Stepantsminda Georgia
See the usual sights along the Georgian Military highway and visit a hidden gem next to Daryal gorge. There are two waterfalls and both are worth visiting. The rivers below the falls are also very pretty. A small a path leads up through a green and rocky gorge of beautiful silence, the scenery to a mystical waterfall. Gveleti waterfall, which can be translated as the Snake’s Waterfall, is one of the most splendid waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Kazbegi, in the Gveleti village. The path from the Gveleti village to the waterfall- less than 1 km. can see picturesque views all over the Kavkasioni.

The village of Juta is one of the highest (2200 m above the sea level) year-round habited settlements in the municipality of Kazbegi. With only 18 Locals, surrounded by alpine terrain, it's a great place to escape civilization.) The Chaukhi mountain range, located near the village, is situated on the main ridge of the Caucasus mountain range, at the source of the river Bakurkhevi. All this composition views give visitors unimaginable satisfaction; feel the part of nature.
