  • Day 1: AIRPORT – NEGOMBO – Travel Time – Approx. 45 Mins

    Pass By: Negombo, Negombo, Western Province
    Arrival – Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be met by our airport representative who will be holding a board with your name and waiting for you in the arrivals hall after you pass the baggage claims and customs. You may want to change some currency or purchase a local mobile Sim both of which can be done prior to starting your tour and the airport representative/chauffeur guide will help you with this.
    Afterwards proceed to Negombo.
    Negombo: “Little Rome” is an exciting city in the western coastal belt. Easily being invaded by different nationalities, Negombo defines a multicultural society. The city is of a vivid combination of a range of cultures mixed within. From the people living to the architectural appearance, Negombo has always homed multi nationalities and religions for people of all types. Aged monuments built during the Dutch Colonial period stands to date. The coast of the city had once been a Fort to the Dutch. The nightlife at the beach side in Negombo is splendid with more happenings than doings. Lively beaches being the entrance, a wide range of seafood cuisines are demanding along the hotels near the beach. From religion to cast, lifestyle to behaviors and edibles to fish equals Negombo.

    Day 2: NEGOMBO - KANDALAMA – Travel Time – Approx. 4 Hrs

    Stop At: Dambulla Cave Temple, Jaffna Hwy, Habarana 50150 Sri Lanka
    After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Kandalama.
    En route visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
    Dambulla Cave temple Located at an elevation of 1118 feet from the sea level raises a massive rock from the surrounding plains of Dambulla of 600 feet high and over 2000 feet in length. It is home to the World’s most acclaimed Cave complex of magnificent Buddha Images and Rock Paintings of vivid colours and shapes constructed and painted from around 2nd Century BC (Anuradhapura era ) and continued up to the Kandyan era of the 18th Century. Sinhalese people call it as ' Dambulu Gala' ( Dambulla Rock) and the Temple is called as the ' Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya' (Golden Rock Dambulla Temple).

    Day 3: KANDALAMA – POLONNARUWA - KANDALAMA – Travel Time – Approx. 2 Hrs

    Stop At: Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka
    After breakfast at the hotel explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
    After the destruction of Anuradhapura in the 1st century, Polonnaruwa became the second capital of Sri Lanka. The remains include Bhramanic constructions from the Cholas civilization as well as the garden city that was constructed on the site in the 12th century. Polonnaruwa is part of the Cultural Triangle, along with Anuradhapura and Sigiriya. This site was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

    Afterwards transfer back to Kandalama.

    Day 4: KANDALAMA – SIGIRIYA – HIRIWADUNNA - KANDALAMA– Travel Time – Approx. 45 Mins

    Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
    After breakfast at the hotel visit Sigiriya Fortress.

    The rocky outcrop of Sigiriya holds the ancient remains of King Kassapa’s palace from the 5th century AD. The top is reachable by stairs built on the side of the mountain and features the Lion Rock and the remains of the palace and fortress. Visitors will see the magnificence of the place when they reach the top, complete with a 360-degree view of the jungle below. The water reservoirs that collect rainwater are still there and in good condition. Sigiriya was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982.

    Afterwards proceed to Hiriwadunna Village Tour with Local Lunch.
    Take a real village walk through the rustic rural community of Sigiriya and Habarana accompanied by an expert guide. It’s not merely a walk only but an authentic encounter with the local village folk; experiencing their lifestyles, their culture and their hospitality. By authentic we mean it’s a true village scenario, not one set up as a tourist attraction. Since both villages are predominantly agriculture based, there is ample opportunity to experience conventional rice fields, vegetable farming, cultivation of native yams and other crops, poultry keeping, bee keeping and much more. It’s a pure interaction with the sons of the soil who laboure with the good earth to earn a living. For those with a knack for adventure, try climbing the makeshift “tree house” from where the villagers keep watch and drive-away the wild animals during the night. You will be warmly welcomed to see and even have some hands-on experience of what it’s like to be one with nature’s bounty. Let the cool breeze brush against your face as you head to one of their humble homes for a refreshing cup of Pure Ceylon Tea served with a piece of jaggery ( a sweet brown sugar made from solidified palm sap).

    En route visit Spice Garden Matale.

Visit a spice garden, where smells of cinnamons, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace overwhelm the senses and the visitors are provided an insight into an age old industry of spice production, which attracted many a European and Asian merchants to the ports of ancient Sri Lanka.

    Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
    Visit Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
    Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in reputation and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. Sri Dalada Maligawa “Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic” which house the most sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. Historical procession called “Esala Perahera” is held annually during the month of July to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
    Visit Cultural Dance Show in the Evening.

    Day 6: KANDY - KANDAPOLA - Travel Time – Approx. 2 ½ Hrs.

    Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
    After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Kandapola
    En route visit Royal Botanical Garden – Peradeniya
    As Sri Lanka’s largest garden an elegant and spacious 147-acres (60-hectares) plenty of time is needed to stroll Peradeniya’s imposing Avenue of Royal Palms. There are some 4,000 different species of plants at Peradeniya Gardens. The 10,000 or so trees, which are the stars, are mature, lofty giants, many of them tropical timber trees. Highlights of the collection include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, capable of growing to 40 meters height (130 feet) with a 25-centimetre (10-inch) stem diameter. And it can grow by a rapid 30 centimeters a day (12 inches).

    Day 7: KANDAPOLA – WEERAWILA– Travel Time – Approx. 4 ½ Hrs.

    About 250km away from Colombo is the picturesque hamlet of Ella in the Badulla district in its hill country charm. It draws attention for sites associated with legendary tale of the Ramayanaya, including the Ravana Ella, and Ravana cave. One of the highlights of visiting Ella is the Ella Gap that affords one of the most breath-taking views of the terrain after a hike up the Ella Rock. You can also plan other easy going excursions and encounter waterfalls along the way.

    Afternoon visit Yala National Park Safari.
    Yala combines a strict nature reserve with a national park. Divided into 5 blocks, the park has a protected area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Two blocks are currently opened to the public.
    Situated in Sri Lanka’s south-east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean, Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a national park in 1938. Ironically, the park was initially used as a hunting ground for the elite under British rule. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles. The best time to visit Yala is between February and July when the water levels of the park are quite low, bringing animals into the open.

    Day 9: WEERAWILA – GALLE – Travel Time – Approx. 4 Hrs.

    Pass By: Galle, Galle, Galle District, Southern Province
    After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Galle.
    The Dutch built the fortified town of Galle in the 16th century. It sits approximately 130 km (81 miles) south of Colombo and is a town worth visiting. Thick stone ramparts, which were built to protect the goods stored there during the times of the Dutch East India Company in the 17th and 18th centuries, surround the historical buildings and churches. The entire fort has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.

    Day 10: GALLE - Travel Time – Approx. 30 Mins

    Stop At: Galle Fort, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
    After breakfast at the hotel proceed to Galle Fort Walking Tour with Lunch.
    A walk around Galle Fort encompasses architectural structures interlaced with local traditions. The original Fort was built by the Portuguese in 1505 and subsequently rebuilt by the Dutch in 1663. The British took over in 1796 and used it as an administrative centre. The straight and narrow lanes invite you to a delightful walk into the 17th century. The highlights include the Bastions, the Dutch reformed church and Government house, the Maritime museum, the ‘Meera’ mosque, the All Saints Church and the old Clock Tower dating back to 1707. The entire Fort is surrounded by thick walled ramparts which withstood the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. The Fort today encompasses restaurants and cafes, modern and vintage shops and art galleries which have taken over from the 17th century vendors who traded in Cinnamon, lace and ornaments.
