we will move in the direction of the western exit from Tbilisi, after 50 minutes we will stop at the photo pause near the Zhinvali reservoir.

I drove another 10 minutes, we will visit the fortress of Ananuri, which was at different times a bastion stopping the conquest of Iberia, and also was the house home of the princely family of Eristavi. There, in the parking lot, there is a small bazaar of Georgian souvenirs along which you can take a walk.
After driving 40 minutes, we will stop at the confluence of white and black Aragvi and at 10 meters we will see a clear strip of rivers of different colors before they merge into one.

We will continue our journey along the Georgian military road and climb up to the Gudauri ski resort we stop at the Arch of Friendship (Zurab Tsereteli) and enjoy the views almost at the cross pass, whose height is 2295 meters above sea level. Climbing to the Cross Pass, we will begin the descent to the village of Stepantsminda on the road stopping for a photo pause at the Red Mountain (mineral secretions of mountain springs).

When approaching the valley near Stepantsminda, we can drop by the village of Sno and look at the house of the Patriarch of Georgia Ilya II and the typical Georgian observation tower.

Day 4: Stepantsminda-Weather station (mount Kazbegi)

We climb on an SUV to the Gergeti church 2,200 meters, then the load on the horses, people on foot. Ascent to the weather station 3653 meters above sea level for 6-7 hours. Night at the weather station in the sleeping bags on the sunbeds.
At the weather station there is a source from which they drink. It is recommended to take 10 liters of water per person for all ascents that climbers themselves will carry.

Day 6: Weather station-Mount Kazbegi-Weather station

Stop At: Mount Kazbek, Mt Kazbek
Climbing the peak of Mount Kazbegi, if weather permits. From 3653 meters rise to 5054 meters. On average 16 hours, 8-9 hours, ascent to 7-6 hours, descent to a weather station 3653 meters.
Duration: 16 hours

Day 7: Reserve day

Stop At: Mount Kazbek, Mt Kazbek
If, on the previous 6 day, the weather does not allow the ascent to Mount Kazbegi, the rise is made on that day.
If on the previous day the climb to Kazbegi peak was carried out, then there is a descent to the Gergeti church for 6 hours on the road. Then to the village of Stepantsminda.

Day 8: Stepantsminda

A free day in Stepantsminda visiting two Gveleti waterfalls in the Darial gorge and the Truso gorge with a cold geyser.
If a reserve day is used during the ascent to climb Mount Kazbeg, this day is dedicated to the descent from the weather station in the village of Stepantsminda.

Stepantsminda - Pasanauri is the birthplace of Khinkali - Excursions to Jvari and the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta. 170 km 5-6 hours with a stop at locations.
