The Czech town of Cesky Krumlov – known as Krumau in Austria – was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City in 1992. The charming town on the Vltava river is dominated by a castle complex above the historic old town, and is also known as the “Pearl of the Bohemian Forest” or “Venice on the Vltava”. We will have a guided sightseeing tour to Krumlov Castle and an exciting and interesting walk in the footsteps of Egon Schiele.     Cesky Krumlov Castle - The mighty complex of the castle is erected on the rock promontory which has been sculpted by the Vltava river from the southern side and by Polečnice stream from the northern side. The castle towers proudly above the refined Renaissance and Baroque burgher architecture of the town below.

    Egon Schiele walking tour - You can have a look e.g. at the little house on a terraced hillside was built during the Neoclassical building boom around 1800. In 1911 the painter Egon Schiele (1890-1918) lived and worked here. Other interesting details about Schiele will be come ilight during this tour as well.

    Historical center - Situated on the banks of the Vltava river, the town was built around a 13th-century castle with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is an outstanding example of a small central European medieval town whose architectural heritage has remained intact thanks to its peaceful evolution over more than five centuries.

    Minorite Monastery - it was founded in 1350 at the initiative of the Krumlov ruler Peter I of Rosenberg and his wife Kateřina as a common monastery of Minorites and Clare nuns, with a common church.

    Stop At: Church of St. Vitus, Kostelni, Cesky Krumlov Czech Republic

    Church of St. Vitus - is an important late-Gothic monument from 1407–1438, with later modifications. In 1995 it was declared a National Cultural Monument of the Czech Republic.[1]
