      The heart-wrenching Tsunami Honganji Viharaya near Hikkaduwa is a memorial to the thousands of people who lost their lives during the tsunami that wrecked the Sri Lankan coast in 2004. There is a small photography museum next to the statue that is free to visit, and donations are welcome to help support the children and families whose lives were affected by the disaster.
