    The National Sanctuary of Christ the King stands at an altitude of 133 meters above the level of the Tagus, consisting of a portico designed by the architect Antonio Lino, 75 meters high, topped by the statue of the Holy Redeemer with open arms facing the city of Lisbon, 28 meters high, by the Portuguese sculptor Francisco Franco de Sousa. The pedestal, including the portico, rises to 82 meters in height. The sanctuary and monument to Cristo Rei is the biggest tourist attraction in the municipality of Almada.

    This monument is the best viewpoint overlooking the city of Lisbon, offering a wide view of the capital and the 25 de Abril Bridge. In numerous tourist reports about Lisbon the sanctuary and monument to Christ the King, ex-libbris of Almada appears. It is one of the tallest buildings in Portugal, 110 meters high.

    The Castle of Sesimbra, plus a Castle of Arab origin in Portugal or Castle of the Moors, is the oldest fortress of the county of Sesimbra and the whole district, built at the highest point, to ensure a good protection and a privileged view. Built by the Saracens, although there are records of other peoples even before its construction proved by some prehistoric and proto-historical materials found there.

    In the Bay of Sesimbra, we will find the Maritime Museum a true lesson of the life of these people and the sea, the art of fishing, the rudimentary utensils they used, we also have 3D movie that will take us on a journey in time from prehistory to time medieval.

    Footprints of dinosaurs, a lighthouse, a hermitage, a sanctuary and many legends. Such is Cape Espichel, an enchanted piece of Portuguese territory literally spiked between the 'infinite sky, the stability of the earth and the dark depths of the sea

    The Cape Espichel Lighthouse - which once received other denominations such as Cape Barbárico, Cape of Good Hope, Promontium Luminoso or Santa Maria - is one of the oldest in the country.

    The first building erected on the initiative of the pilgrims who passed there was the Hermitage of Memory, a small, fifteenth-century temple with a simple and harmonious rectangular plan. Inside the Ermida there are panels of tiles that depict a bit of legend and clearly show the footprints that are now known to be sauropod dinosaurs.

    Crossing the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, one of the most complete and protected Portuguese parks over 500 meters high, with a fabulous view of the estuary of the river Sado, where we have a resident colony of dolphins not very common for this class of mammals. Through scheduling it is possible to take a boat trip to see this fantastic family of mammals. With whitish tones of its calcareous cliffs, the blue of the waters and the green of the vegetal mantle that covers the mountain range of the Arrábida, a conjugation of colors that results in a unique image.
