  • Day 1: QUITO/GUAYAQUIL – SAN CRISTOBAL

    Stop At: La Loberia, Ecuador
    The guide will pick you up at the San Cristobal airport and take you to the hotel. After a nice Ecuadorian lunch you will visit Loberia: a beautiful beach with a great snorkeling spot! During this activity you may spot some sea turtles, rays, sea lions and many species of colorful fishes. After that you will do a nice hike to a cliff where it is possible to observe many marine iguanas and birds such as blue footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls and frigate birds. In the afternoon you will go back to the hotel and get ready for dinner.

    Day 2: SAN CRISTOBAL

    Stop At: Kicker Rock, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno Ecuador
    Today there are 2 options to choose from, both options are included in the price. (please let us know at booking your preference)

    OPTION 1 – LOBOS ISLAND (hiking):

    After a 30 min boat ride departing from the harbor you arrive at Lobos Island, as the name implies the island is home to a large sea lion colony. But that’s not the only thing that you’ll be able to find while you hike and snorkel at the island on this half day tour. During the hike, you might spot some blue footed boobies, marine iguanas and frigate birds. During the snorkeling activity you can often see the marine iguanas eating, as well as rays and turtles in the sandy bottom that separates Lobos Island from the mainland of San Cristobal. This tour includes a stop at Playa Ochoa, which is a nice white sanded beach located on the San Cristobal Island. In the early afternoon you be back to the harbor.

    OPTION 2 – KICKER ROCK (snorkeling):

    You will visit the famous Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido – sleeping Lion), a volcanic formation in the ocean. There you will be able to snorkel with sharks, rays, turtles and if you are very luck also with hammerhead sharks! After lunch on the boat you will go to a beautiful pristine beach, where you will have time to relax. In the afternoon you will be back at the harbor. This is a shared tour with a maximum of 12 passengers on board.

    Stop At: San Cristobal Interpretation Center, 2 km Southwest of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno Ecuador
    The rest of the afternoon you can explore San Cristobal Island by yourself. You can also use this time for buying souvenirs or you can go and visit the interpretation center (entrance is free), Tijeretas, Playa Carola or Playa Mann. You will meet with the group for dinner where the guide will give you all the details for the next day.

    Day 3: ESPAÑOLA ISLAND

    Stop At: Punta Suarez, . Ecuador
    Departure by boat to Española island, it takes about 1,5 hour each way. At arrival you will disembark at Punta Suarez where you will begin a hike, looking for Nazca and blue footed boobies. After the hike you will go back on board for lunch and then reach a snorkel spot where those who want can enjoy a snorkel session and look for tropical fishes and rays. You will be back at the San Cristobal harbor in the end of the afternoon. Please note: Albatrosses are not on the island from late December until the beginning of April. Don’t worry because there will still be plenty of wildlife to observe during the other months. After the tour you will have a bit of free time and then you will meet with the group for dinner where the guide will give you the details for the next day.

    Day 4: SAN CRISTOBAL – FLOREANA – ISABELA

    Stop At: Asilo de la Paz, Ecuador
    Breakfast will be served in your hotel. After breakfast you will be picked-up to go to the pier where you depart around 7AM to Floreana island. By private boat it takes about 2,5 hours to get there. Upon arrival, you will visit the highlands, a place called “Peace Asylum”, where the first colonists of the islands settled. The guide will tell you all about the mysteries of this island. During the short hike you will be able to spot Galapagos giant tortoises. After lunch in the small village “Puerto Velasco Ibarra” you will go snorkeling at a beautiful, black sanded beach nearby the pier. Afterwards you will continue on the boat to Isabela Island (±1,5 hour). Isabela is one of the youngest islands which still has moderate volcanic activity. It’s a beautiful island with a long white sandy beach and a clear bay. When you arrive you will be driven to the flamingo lagoon in a taxi, bus or chiva to spot these beautiful animals (if time allows, otherwise it will be re-scheduled throughout the stay in Isabela). After that, you will get a transfer to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

    Day 5: ISABELA

    Stop At: Sierra Negra, Ecuador
    Today you can choose between visiting the Volcano (trekking tour) and Cabo Rosa (snorkeling tour).

    OPTION 1 – VOLCANO HIKE (included in the price)

    Early in the morning you will be picked-up and driven towards the highlands. You will start a 16km (6 hours!) to the Sierra Negra and Chico volcano. The first stop of the hike is the Sierra Negra Volcano, which has the second largest active crater in the world with a diameter of 10km. The second part of the hike takes you to Chico, a cone of Sierra Negra with moon-like sceneries. This gives you an idea of how the islands looked at their creation. After you return from the volcano, you will be transported to a local farm where lunch will be served. Finally you will be back at the hotel around 3:30 PM.

    OPTION 2 – CABO ROSA TUNNELS (Extra $140 dollar)

    If you prefer snorkeling over hiking this tour will be a better fit for you. Cabo Rosa (45 minutes boat trip each way) is a place where lava has flowed into the ocean and formed beautiful lava tunnels. At this place you may see penguins, blue-footed boobies and sea turtles, however the highlight of this tour is snorkeling. You have the chance to swim with sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, rays, seahorses and many tropical fishes. The tour to Cabo Rosa takes about 5 hours.

    Stop At: Concha de Perla, Puerto Villamil Ecuador
    The rest of the day you can explore the Isabela island yourself. It is possible to enjoy the beautiful beach in Isabela or you can snorkel in the Concha de Perla Lagoon.

    Day 6: ISABELA – SANTA CRUZ

    Stop At: Las Tintoreras, Puerto Villamil Ecuador
    In the morning you will visit the Tintoreras Islet near the pier, where you have a short hike and snorkel. At Tintoreras Islet you can spot small Galapagos penguins, sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies and often you can even spot white-tipped sharks in one of the channels. Afterwards you will continue with our private boat to Santa Cruz (±2 hours). Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel to get ready for lunch and change for the afternoon program.

    Stop At: Galapagos Beach at Tortuga Bay, South-West of the town of Puerto Ayora, 200350 Ecuador
    After lunch you will take a boat to the Tortuga Bay beach (20min), where you will be able to spot a huge marine iguana colony. Returning from Tortuga Bay it is a 3km hike back to Puerto Ayora, passing through a giant endemic cactus forest.

    Day 7: SEYMOUR

    Stop At: North Seymour Island, Ecuador
    Today you will be picked up at your hotel by bus and taken to the Itabaca channel, which is located at the northern part of the island. You will then board a yacht and navigate (1 hour) to North Seymour: this island is an open zoo. It is possible to spot a lot of animals from very close: swallow tailed gulls, sea lions, marine iguanas, land iguanas, blue footed boobies, frigate birds. We will hike around 1.5 hours around the island.
    Duration: 3 hours

    Stop At: Playa las Bachas, Ecuador
    Then you will have lunch on board while navigating to Bachas: Bachas is a beautiful beach in the northern part of Santa Cruz which is only accessible by boat. There the blue ocean contrasts with the black of the lava rocks and the smooth white sand of the beach. There is also a lagoon where it is a possibility to spot flamingos.

    Day 8: BARTOLOMÉ

    Stop At: Isla Bartolome, Ecuador
    Today you will also be picked up at your hotel by bus and taken to the channel of Itabaca at the northern part of the island. You will then board a yacht and navigate to Bartolomé. When you arrive there you will disembark and begin the hike on to the top. The trail has been arranged so it is easier and less harmful for the island. When arriving at the top you will have an amazing view over the island, the bay and the pinnacle rock. This rock is believed to have been cut in two during the second world war when the American soldiers were training on Baltra military base. You will also snorkel at this beautiful island.

    Day 9: SANTA CRUZ – BALTRA AIRPORT

    Stop At: Seymour Airport, Aeropuerto Seymour de Baltra, Isla Baltra Baltra, Ecuador
    In the morning you be transferred to the Baltra airport with a stop to visit a lava tunnel. Sometimes you can spot a Galapagos owl in this tunnel. You will be accompanied by the guide until the check-in point at the airport.

    • The flight OUT must be out of BALTRA (code GPS). Departures from this island are operated either by LATAM, TAME or AVIANCA.-Please choose the latest flight leaving around 1PM (not before or you would be missing the tunnel activity).
    • There are no guides on the transportation by public speedboat between islands. Please note that, when the travel between islands is done by speedboat, the ride can be quite rough (especially from July to December). Make sure you bring sea sickness medication if you are prone to sea sickness.
    • Please try to bring small bags and luggage, The Galapagos public transportation is on average small and it takes more time and space when you bring large baggage.
    • It is important to have valid travel and medical insurance. Please inform us of any known medical conditions you have.
    • Please note that tap water at the Galapagos might contain bacteria so we recommend to always use bottled water, even when brushing your teeth.
    • Consider informing yourself with your doctor about food safety when traveling to tropical countries and precaution measurements on how to avoid food poisoning (e.g. always wash your hands always before eating, don’t eat things on the kiosks on the street, only eat peeled fruit, etc.).
