Climb for charity gives you an opportunity as a climber/traveler to add value to you experience by donating part of your climbing fee to a child living in vulnerable/poor environment. Godson Charity is not an orphanage center. Instead we spot children living in poor/vulnerable environment analyze their needs from where they are and directly seek for help. When you climb the Kilimanjaro with us part of the fee paid is donated to the children, either shall you need to see the children before or after the climb we can organize for you to do that. Either, our team is as well open to other kinds of support you can give us. We have gathered together the profiles for the children we are helping with the specific needs per child. . By climbing the Kilimanjaro with us you are actually directly helping to put a child to school, food in their stomachs and their dreams to reality.   • Day 1: Day 1 –MARANGU GATE- MANDARA HUT

    Stop At: Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro National Park 40000 Tanzania
    Day 1 –MARANGU GATE- MANDARA HUT
    You will be picked up from the hotel and a drive to Marangu gate follow as you drive towards the gate you will be enjoying excellent views of the mountain, you will meet your team of guides and porters at the gate. Whilst in the forest you could see bright coloured birds, colobus monkeys and other species of monkey as well as mosses, lichens and flowers and delicate orchids. If the skies are clear you can see the town of Moshi lying at the edge of the plain further down. Once registrations finished you will start ascending leave the park buildings the walk is 4-5 hours through areas of coffee plantation and thick rainforest to Mandara Hut for Dinner and overnight.

    Day 2: DAY 2 – MANDARA HUT – HOROMBO HUT 3,720Mts

    The second day on the mountain starts just after breakfast with a steep climb through the last swathe of rainforest, though this soon gives way to rolling alpine meadow dotted with giant heather. Once you leave the forest sunshade, Kilimanjaro’s two peaks snow covered Kibo and rocky Mawenzi – lie straight ahead overlooking the skyline.Further on you cross a zone of open moorland with diminutive vegetation, today you gain roughly 1,000m altitude; the walk can take five to seven hours depending on your pace but always POLE POLE. Tonight for Dinner and overstay at Horombo Huts.

    Day 3: Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

    Stop At: Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro National Park 40000 Tanzania
    Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
    We climb very gradually towards the lunar desert of the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. The terrain changes to screed and there is a palpable sense of high altitude wilderness. We usually reach Kibo Hut (4,700 m.) at the bottom of the crater wall by midday and the afternoon is free (to contemplate the summit ascent!!). The remainder of the day is spent resting and eating in preparation for the final climb before a very early night! [4-5 hours walking from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut]

    Day 4: Day 4: Summit Day then down to Horombo Hut

    Stop At: Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro National Park 40000 Tanzania
    Day 4: Summit Day then down to Horombo Hut
    We will start our ascent by torchlight at about 1 a.m. so that we can be up at Gillman’s Point by sunrise. The initial climb is steep over loose volcanic screen, but there are some well-graded zigzag and a slow but steady pace will have us up to Gillman’s (5,685 m.) in about five or six hours. We will rest there and spend some time taking in the sunrise. Those who are still feeling strong can make the three hour round trip from here along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,896 m.) passing close to the spectacular glaciers that still occupy most of the summit area. The descent is surprisingly fast and we return to Horombo Hut for the night. [11-15 hours walking from Kibo Hut to Gillman’s Point]

    Day 5: Day 5: Horombo Hut – Moshi

    Day 5: Horombo Hut – Moshi
    After breakfast, we will start with a pleasant moorland walk to Mandara and then a lovely forest walk to the National Park gates to Moshi town at the hotel where you will overnight

    Day 6: Home Visiting Godson Charity's Families

    Stop At: Mount Kilimanjaro, Kilimanjaro National Park 40000 Tanzania
    You will have a chance to visit the families we support them. Since the price including the donation we as Godson Charity we will prepare something that you will donate to some of the family.
