Floristically Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forests in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns.
The journey takes 9 - 10 hours which in itself is quite an experience given the beauty the Ugandan countryside offers. This can take a couple of hours or a whole day depending on the location of the apes. You should therefore, not forget to carry your packed Lunch from the Lodge!
While you tracking the Gorillas, keep an eye out for forest species that are a true reflection of Uganda’s bio diversity. Follow the Mountain Gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with. Coming face to face with the rare species in their natural habitat is one of the most amazing experiences you have ever had! You will have a chance to observe and take Pictures as you enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, groaning and resting as the youngsters play and move backwards and forward in a pleasantly comical demonstration.
