2 Hour Vineyard Trail Ride

What a fantastic way to experience the winelands, from between the ears of a horse. Our 2 Hour trail ride will start off with a short lesson for novices, after which we will head out onto our own nursery farm, and then cross to our neighbouring wine farm. Your ride will take you through vineyards, farmland and indigenous fynbos, all with spectacular  views of Table mountain.

We do not mix groups, so you will not be held back or put under pressure from other guests. Everyone gets exactly the ride they want, be that a gentle walk through vinyards, or a fast paced canter down a farm track.

Your guide will be a local guide, with vast knowledge of South-African culture, the local area and natural horsemanship.

Stop At: Horseriding at Pink Geranium, Pink Geranium Nursery, Corner of N1 and R304 Corner of N1 and R304, Stellenbosch 7600 South Africa

Your guide will meet you at the Nursery building. (If you do not see her, just ask inside, they will call me)
You will then be accompanied up to the stables, where you will meet the horses and fit your helmet. You can leave valuables locked up in the tack room.
Riders are matched to horses based on size, previous experience, and personal preference.
Novices will be shown the basics, and then when everyone is comfortable, we head out. If guests would like to trot or canter, they need to show they can do the rising trot in the arena before we depart.
We then set off across our nursery farm, and onto our neighbouring wine farms. We get great views of all the surrounding mountains, including Table Mountain, Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Paarl and many more.
We are likely to see many bird species, including Blue Crane ( SA's national bird), Blue Heron, Jackal Buzzards, Fish Eagles, Red Bishops, & others depending on the season.
We may also see some deer, like Duiker and Steenbok.
Depending on the time of day, we will stop for a glass of wine, or a cold drink, overlooking some great views.
I try not to mix groups, so you will most likely only go out with the people in your party. This ensures that everyone get the ride they want, be that a gentle meander, or a fast paced gallop along a farm track. Please note, if you have mixed abilities within your group, we have to cater to the least experienced rider. More experienced riders will be given the chance to trot or canter, but only if I deem it safe to do so.
