Stop At: Paddy Homestay House, Lot 22691, 1, Jalan Parit 4 Pantai Sungai Burung, Kampung Sungai Burung, 45400 Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia

Sekinchan, in Chinese means the ‘village suitable for plantation’ is well known as one of the major rice supplier in Malaysia. Sekinchan is actually a fishing village. But it is more widely recognized as a famous paddy field instead of a fishing village. Earning it the nickname of “The rice bowl of Selangor“. Tourists come for the fluorescent green, picturesque rice paddy fields (or sawah padi in the local language Bahasa Melayu)!

    Instead for green fields:
    Go in March/April (until mid-May) and September/October (until mid-November).
If you want to see golden paddy fields:
Then you should plan your trip around the end of May and November.

During the visit to the Rice Paddy Factory, you will learn something about the rice processing, they display a mini museums featuring exhibits on traditional harvesting and photographing. At the end of the visit, you will be gifted a small pack of local produce rice as sourveniers.

Sunrise and sunset over the padi fields was beautiful. Recommended to stay overnight to observe the beautiful sunset and catch breathtaking sunrise early in the morning.

Stop At: Sekinchan Fish Village, 156, Jalan Bagan, Bagan Sekinchan, 45400 Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia

Drop by the fish market in Sekinchan, see the fresh a variety of local catched seafood selling here. You may buy some and bring to the nearby restaurant to cook it for you. It is real fresh.

There is a nearby fishing village and it is nostalgic to see it if you are raise up from a fishing village. The wooden port with the small fishing boats parking there, seeing the tanned fisherman repairing the nets.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Ah Ma House, Lot 10376 Jalan Tali Air 5, Sekinchan 45400 Malaysia

This is a typical "house of the olden days" with an interesting collection of nostalgic memorabilia, especially relevant if you grew up in the 70's. Ah Ma Bakery is a traditional bakery shop. Their products is mainly from the traditional recipe from their grandmom. A wooden 60's theme design house, decorated and furniture furnished with the antiques stuff, foodies and snacks.

They are selling kuih kapit (love letters / egg waffle) and other traditional Malaysia local snacks, biscuit and dessert. The grandma egg waffle sold here has rich traditional taste according to the visitors. Ah Ma House is also a nice photography spot besides the food as you can find many vintage furniture and traditional appliances decorated nicely in the house. Those appliances were used by our grandmother decades ago, hence the name Ah Ma House, as Ah Ma means grandmother in Hokkien.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Mango King, 248, Lorong Empat, 45400 Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia

Mango King is simply a corner house where the front yard is turned into a small business selling not only mangoes but of fruits which was grown locally. On a small scale. There were guavas, soursops, prepared jackfruits, passion fruit, prawn crackers and mangoes. We were given a slice to try in hope that we would buy some.

Inside this unassuming shack of a shop, the main attractions are indeed the mangoes. They are big and juicy. However it was the mango shake - we call it a shake because it is just too thick to be called a juice - that got us wanting more. It's the real stuff - wholesome mango pieces blended with ice, sweet and thick, very satisfying slurping it down. Go get it!

The freshly blend mango smoothie with sour plum powder toppings was yummy and thirst quenching. They also serve rojak and snack food. The rojak was tasty.

    Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Pantai Redang Beach, Sekinchan Malaysia

Low-key beach known for its "wishing" tree, shorebirds & waterfowl & numerous seafood vendors. Not suitable for swim, muddy and have many rocks and sea shell.

One of the attraction here at Pantai Redang Beach (热浪沙滩) Sekinchan is this big old wishing tree entangled with red ribbons knotted with coins. Visitors can write their wishes on a red ribbon and tie with a coin and throw it up to the three. Nearby is a small Chinese temple in which you can make some offerings and even write your wish and try to throw it at a tree nearby. It is believed if your wish remains on the tree on first throw, your wishes will come true.

You can play kites, soap Bubble, enjoy ice-cream, coconut drinks, snacks, buy fruits, buy souvenier and enjoy the sunset view. Also nice for photo shooting with the wishing trees and I love Sekinchan signboard landmark.
